Since early childhood, I was impressed by the sound of human voices and choirs. To write for choirs and to perform with them is an essential part of my work.

As composer and conductor I'm fascinated by the variety of sounds and the dynamics of a big band. With a top and hand-picked ensemble, the KölnBigBand, I was breaking new ground.

Composing music is an exciting challenge: Creating atmospheres, transferring words and emotions to music.

As a musician I'm influenced and inspired by jazz, classical and Norwegian music. The saxophone is an instrument that can 'sing' and touch with it's many colors of expressions.
